Spring 2025 Street Tree Program - April 5th

Street trees are critical for every neighborhood community, and especially important for a neighborhood like ours with the word “park” within its name.
The City of Allentown Public Works is happy to work with the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association to promote street tree planting. Matthew Kuntzman, tree inspector, organizes most of the planting in the public right of way for the City. Over the next few months, we will take planting requests from residents and create a map of tree planting locations with a signoff from property owners to turn into the City. The City will provide the trees with shade tree money. Our neighborhood association is responsible for the planting but the City will normally lend some man power and dump trucks filled with mulch. They will also supply all of the equipment such as shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, stakes, and gator bags. We just need volunteers!
