HPCCNA Plants Trees!
Spring 2025 Street Tree Program - a great success with almost 30 new tress - thank you volunteers!

Street trees are critical for every neighborhood community, and especially important for a neighborhood like ours with the word “park” within its name.
The City of Allentown Public Works is happy to work with the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association to promote street tree planting. Matthew Kuntzman, tree inspector, organizes most of the planting in the public right of way for the City. Over the next few months, we will take planting requests from residents and create a map of tree planting locations with a signoff from property owners to turn into the City. The City will provide the trees with shade tree money. Our neighborhood association is responsible for the planting but the City will normally lend some man power and dump trucks filled with mulch. They will also supply all of the equipment such as shovels, rakes, wheel barrows, stakes, and gator bags. Our next tree planting initiative is slotted for 2027.

Volunteers will be provided free brick-oven roasted pizza from our award winning pizza maker, Chris, located at 2131 W. Union St. after the planting is completed.
Neighbors who are not able to assist in the planting are welcome to buy pizza and have community fellowship with our neighbors.
